[Goals Highlight HD] Ronaldo Scores Controversial Penalty As Real Madrid Qualify To Semi-Finals After 3-1 Humble Against Juventus (Watch)

Published

on

Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury-time penalty put holders Real Madrid through to the Champions League semi-finals after holding off a stunning Juventus comeback.

Ronaldo’s coolly-taken 97th-minute penalty into the top corner came after Medhi Benatia brought down Lucas Vazquez in the box.

Juve goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, in what might be his last Champions League appearance, was sent off by English referee Michael Oliver after awarding the spot-kick, for foul and abusive language.

Real, Champions League winners in three of the past four seasons, came into the second leg leading 3-0, helped by Ronaldo’s stunning bicycle kick.

But the Serie A leaders got off to a dream start when Mario Mandzukic headed in from Sami Khedira’s cross after just two minutes and Mandzukic got a second before half-time.

In all honesty, should referee Micheal Oliver have given that penalty late on? For me it was never a penalty and pressure probably played into Oliver’s mind.

UPDATE NEWS!! Cristiano Ronaldo R*pe Scandal Reopened (READ MORE)

Published

on

Police in Las Vegas have reopened a sexual assault investigation from 2009 at the request of a woman who has alleged she was raped by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Kathryn Mayorga says she was attacked by the Portuguese footballer in a hotel room in the US city that year.

Juventus forward Ronaldo, 33, has dismissed the claim, first reported in Germany’s Der Spiegel, as “fake news”.

His representatives said he would take legal action against the magazine.

Der Spiegel said Ms Mayorga, 34, filed a report with Las Vegas police shortly after the alleged incident.

In 2010, she reportedly reached an out-of-court settlement with Ronaldo involving a $375,000 (£288,000) payment for agreeing never to go public with the allegations.

Her lawyers are now seeking to declare the non-disclosure agreement void.

Las Vegas police confirmed they had investigated a complaint in June 2009, but added they had no suspect in the case.

“At the time the report was taken, the victim did not provide detectives with the location of the incident or suspect description,” a statement said.

“As of September 2018, the case has been reopened and our detectives are following up on information being provided,” it added.

Ronaldo joined Italy’s Juventus from Real Madrid for £99.2m ($128m) earlier this year.

The Portuguese international is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

Champions League! Bayern Munich 0-0 Sevilla (RESULT)

Published

on

Bayern Munich avoided the pitfalls endured by some of their fellow European heavyweights as a goalless draw against 10-man Sevilla booked a place in the Champions League semi-finals.

Last week’s 2-1 comeback win at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan proved enough as a spirited Sevilla were unable to respond with the away goals they needed.

Bayern wrapped up a sixth consecutive Bundesliga title with a 4-1 win at Augsburg on Saturday but this was a patient, workmanlike display with scant evidence of the thrills witnessed elsewhere in this week’s quarter-finals.

Sevilla enjoyed enough openings in the first half to make life uncomfortable for their illustrious hosts but lacked composure in front of goal.

Joaquin Correa’s header against the crossbar after half-time was the closest Manchester United’s conquerors came to a breakthrough, although the Argentina forward’s night ended in ignominy as he was set off for a horrible stoppage-time lunge on Javi Martinez.

Bayern closed out an aggregate victory that will not live long in the memory with little fuss, increasing their chances of an unforgettable triumph in Kiev at the end of May.

PSG Faces Champions League Ban Over Neymar, Mbappe Deals

Published

on

Paris-Saint Germain could face a hefty fine or even a ban from the Champions League, following a UEFA probe triggered by the transfers of Neymar Jnr. and Kylian Mbappe.

Preliminary investigation revealed that PSG “overstated” how much they received from sponsorships.

The Ligue 1 champions activated Neymar’s £200million release clause in his Barcelona contract last summer and then acquired Kylian Mbappe on a loan deal, with a view to permanent move which could rise to £166m.

UEFA’s probe is looking at whether PSG broke financial fair play (FFP) rules.

According to the Financial Times, UEFA hired sports consultancy firm Octagon to look at PSG’s sponsorship deals and determine if they are “fair value” after concern some money had been received from “related parties” close to the club’s owners.

“The big question, clearly, is UEFA going to be brave enough to enforce their own rules?

“If not for PSG, then frankly why bother?” a source close to the investigation said.

UEFA will apparently meet next week to discuss the review.
